Porat- Island Krk
Village Porat is placed on the west side
of the island Krk. Porat is specific village
on the island Krk, lonely, little, fish
village, last inhibitated on that side.
People still live on the old way, fishing,
trey breed sheeps, cows, chickens.
The inhabitants of village Porat, still
live on the old way, thay have old wooden
fishing boats, fishing net, lobster nets..

from 16 century has museum collection of
meaningful samples, very important for Island
Krk history.

In Porat you can see the remains of old
Roman's villa.
Olives, grape vine, fishing. Local Porat's
inhabitants are Christians and they are
very regionally like all Krk's inhabitants
are.
In the center of the village Porat are
placed two fish restaurants "Konoba
Porat" and "Piccola Venecia".
By the city Porat beach, you can eat or
drink a juice or coffee in restaurant "Stari
gusar" (old pirate), with magnificent
view on the city Rijeka, Opatija and Island
Cres. |

Porat is great place for resting, away from the
rush, tourists. Little bays, stone bays, sand
beach, beaches for children. Search the nature
and all those great bays-(where you can come only
throughout the wood or by ship.

Bay "Tri sestrice" Three
sisters - the legend says that three little sisters
drowned in that bay.
Mercedes Benz bay (some smugglers illegally
transported Mercedes benz(car), which they throw in
the sea. The one with more courage can dive and look
that old rusty mercedes benz.
St. Martin - beautiful sand bay, in untouched
nature, souranded with mediterran plants, without civilization..
